Description
If you’ve got a spot in your backyard that would be perfect for a tree, this is the giveaway for you.
The City of Sydney Council is giving away 1,000 free trees in small, medium and large sizes. Each household can take home up to 2 free trees with a maximum of 1 bay tree and 1 citrus tree.
There's a choice of deciduous (loses leaves in autumn, grows new ones in spring) or evergreen (keeps leaves year-round) species to suit your space.

By taking home a tree, you’ll help us reach our target of increasing local tree canopy to 27% by 2050. This makes Sydney cooler, improves air quality and provides a better habitat for birds and animals.
⚠️ Note: You’ll need ID – this is for City of Sydney residents only.
Eligible suburbs include: Alexandria, Beaconsfield, Camperdown (part), Chippendale, Darlington, Erskineville (part), Eveleigh, Forest Lodge (part), Glebe, Newtown (part), Redfern, Rosebery (part), Surry Hills, Waterloo, Zetland.
