Annandale ticks all the boxes for being a mustlive destination for families.
Rich with history, Annandale was founded in 1823 and is now days popular for its Victorian architecture and close proximity to the CBD. Some iconic buildings of the area are the Hunter Baillie Church with its huge spire, the renowned Witches Hats homes and the beautiful Abbey.
The charming suburb stretches between Parramatta Road and Rozelle Bay with extensive parklands including Hogan Park connecting to Bicentennial Park, Hinsby Park and Cohen Park. I highly recommend an afternoon spent at Bicentennial Park as there is so much to do here for all ages. Enjoy a family picnic or BBQ, play on the construction diggers in the sandpit, brace yourself for the slippery dip and ride along the bike paths.
Another must do in Annandale is to explore the shopping village along Booth and Johnston Streets.
Here you can find all sorts of boutique stores including a fantastic toy shop as well asan array of quality cafes and restaurants.
Annandale is home to a number of fantastic schools and is part of the school catchment zone for Annandale North Public School, Annandale Public School and St Brendan’s Catholic Primary School. There is also the Toxteth Kindergarten and Annandale Child Care Centre Schools and Colleges.
North of Annandale is the light rail service to the city or if the south side of town is more assessable the bus service along Parramatta Road is equally as easy. The Parramatta Road bus service also provides easy access to the University of Sydneyand Broadway Shopping Centre.
Annandale is a friendly neighbourhood with lovely tree lined streets and beautifully presented homes to admire. The locals feel a strong sense of community and are proud to call Annandale home.
