Balmain Eastย is at the eastern end of Darling Street, where there is a wonderful tight knit community surrounded by water. There are a number of parks including Illoura Reserve & Thornton Park near the wharf, Origlass Park & Propeller Park.ย
Those that live in Balmain East use the ferry service from the recently re-furbished wharf or catch the buses which go to the city but also further afield.
There are many beautiful homes, both historic & modern in Balmain East. Some of the best streets are Clifton & William.
Although be warned as the roads are somewhat narrow in some of these sections!There are a number of lovely cafes & restaurants in this pocket, as well as the East Village pub which is very popular.
Balmain East has Nicholson Street primary school, which is famous for its annual โHalloween Festivalโ & also Little Nicholson Street play centre, which is community run for kids under the age of 6 years. A wonderful space with indoor & outdoor areas, lots of toys, books & dress ups available & also the opportunity for kids to do paint & do crafts.
