Burwood Heights is somewhat of a hidden gem and quite often is grouped in with Burwood but in fact it is a separate suburb with a different postcode to Burwood. In terms of geography and number of residents it is a tiny suburb. It is made up of only a handful of streets and is bordered by Liverpool, Burwood and Claremont Roads and Lily and Arthur Streets. According to the 2011 census Burwood Heights is home to 810 residents many of whom speak a second language at home making Burwood Heights another multi-cultural mixing pot like some of its neighbouring suburbs. Burwood Heights does have some apartments but housing is mainly made up of gorgeous Federation properties on generous size and level blocks which is what draws families to the area. While the suburbs itself does not have its own shops it has easy access to large shopping centres in both Burwood and Ashfield. Public transport options are numerous with regular bus services stopping along Liverpool Roads or if the train is more your style then Burwood train station is about a 20 minute walk away
