Inspiring children's creativity with cross-cultural music and arts

Description

Magic Tree of Music offers unique, fun and imaginative classes, online programs and at-home activities designed to ignite your child's creativity, as they explore music, art, dance, and stories from cultures around the world. The classes and programs let children interact with many musical and artistic traditions to open their minds to new possibilities through creative play.

A new "Young Creative" class, developed especially for 3 - 5 year olds, is now being held weekly at Marrickville Library. Children will experience

  • Hands on playing of a West African djembe and a Javanese hanging chime instrument
  • Movement to music learning traditional cultural dances
  • Singing folk songs
  • Drawing cultural story characters
  • Designing masks
  • Fun and colourful folk stories with video animation and music

Led by Dr. Shari Lindblom, an expert in music and creative education, these classes also feature videos of cultural musicians and dancers.

Try a free, introductory class and then explore further with the 6-week program.

Visit the Magic Tree of Music website to book and find out more about how cross-cultural music, art, dance & storytelling fosters children's creativity and sets them up to be life-long learners.
