Blak Markets is making its way across Botany Bay to run for the first time at Cook Park at Kyeemagh. First Hand Solutions Aboriginal Corporation in partnership with Bayside Council is putting on this one day Market on Sunday 23 March, 10am - 3pm.
This special event offers Sydneysiders a chance to celebrate First Nations culture while discovering unique Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art & craft, with the knowledge that 100% of the profits generated are going back into their communities.
The Blak Markets will open at 10am with the official Welcome and Smoking Ceremony at 10:30am and feature 20 NSW Indigenous Australian stalls with the aim of celebrating Indigenous makers, artists and small business owners. There will be a whole Festival program of entertainment with free interactive weaving workshops, Djiriba Waagura dancers, Cianna and Olivia Singing, storytelling through dance workshops for the kids and a Kamay cultural fishing haul.
