Description

We’re thrilled to let you know that White Bay Power Station reopens its doors this Friday 20 September for the Power Up Festival, a FREE 3-day, 2-night extravaganza featuring the best of local creativity and talent.

From Friday, 20 to Sunday, 22 September, visitors can expect a spectacular showcase of art, live music, food, and drinks, including performances from icons like Josh Pyke, Azadoota and more!

On Sunday, families can bring the kids down to the festival, starting with special vintage bus rides in from the city. Visitors can take part in a fun print etching workshop or add their own unique touch to a collaborative art installation during our Building Connections workshop. Or, they can start their musical journey with the Sydney Youth Orchestras in interactive learning sessions.

Here are some highlights of what visitors can expect from the jam-packed festival lineup:

  • Power Up Cabaret - showcasing an electrifying mix of vaudeville, circus acts, magic, comedy and swing music. (Friday, 20 September)
  • Josh Pyke - Rozelle born and raised, festival headliner, ARIA-winning singer-songwriter and true local, set to perform his hit singles (Saturday, 21 September)
  • AfroMbollo - Senegalese master percussionist Yacou Mbaye and an all-star band of local musicians playing a fusion of traditional Senegalese music with funk, hip hop and Afrobeat. (Saturday, 21 September)
  • Sunday Sounds - experience concerts from the Sydney Youth Orchestras and the Inner West Community Band, then a series of singer/songwriters, composers and performers from the Inner West in collaboration with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. (Sunday, 22 September)
