Liberty Grove

Latest Events, Offers & Job Opportunities

Other inner west residents might scratch their heads when they hear Liberty Grove mentioned. And that’s how Liberty Grove’s 2000-odd residents like it. The entire suburb of Liberty Grove is a purpose-built development that was completed in 1998 and designed to be a suburb that offered a lifestyle suitable for the coming millennium. In 1999 the Liberty Grove development went on to win the Urban Institute of Australia award for excellence. Residents love the mix of low-rise apartments, freestanding houses and townhouses. There are a number of shared facilities in Liberty Grove which include swimming pools, communal barbecue facilities, two playgrounds, multiple parks, a basketball court, a residents only gym and a community hall. The focus on community based facilities has fostered a feeling of community in Liberty Grove while the development itself allows for residents to maintain privacy when desired. The suburb itself is nestled between Rhodes to the north and Concord West to the south and the east. It has convenient transport links to the city courtesy of the train line that runs from Rhodes and Concord West stations, both within walking distance. Or if travelling by water is more your style then a ferry service runs from nearby Brays Bay Reserve. And in the car Liberty Grove is in close proximity to several major roads that can get you towards the city to the west or north. Liberty Grove has its own convenience store for those emergency purchases or a cold drink or ice cream in the warmer weather and if a bigger shop is needed then you’re just a short walk or drive away from a large shopping centre at Rhodes which has the major supermarket and mass merchant chains along with a number of more boutique shops. It even has its own movie theatre. If you don’t feel like cooking then head to nearby Concord West where the shopping strip has a number of different dining options and the generous size footpaths allow for al fresco dining, which is perfect if you have the kids in tow. Nearby Rhodes and Concord West also have numerous early education and day care options. And once the kids are school age then Concord West Public School and Concord High School are nearby along with a number of private school options in neighbouring suburbs.
