St Andrew’s Cathedral School offers more than academic excellence — it provides an education grounded in character, compassion and curiosity. Located in the heart of the city, the school fosters a vibrant, inclusive community where every student is known, valued and supported.

At the core of the school’s ethos is its Christian heritage, which upholds the belief that each student is unique, loved by God and is gifted for a purpose. This message is consistently reinforced by Head of School, Dr Julie McGonigle, an internationally recognised educational leader who champions student wellbeing and character development as essential to academic success.

Learning at St Andrew’s is dynamic and engaging. Teachers promote critical thinking, curiosity and personal responsibility in every classroom. Students are encouraged to ask big questions and think deeply about the world around them. Character is not just taught — it’s modelled daily through habits, relationships, service and leadership.

In Years 10–12, students can choose between the HSC and IB Diploma Programme, supported by specialist teachers and a dedicated Senior College campus that offers a pre-tertiary environment.

Co-curricular life is equally vibrant. Students engage in sport, music, drama, debating, international tours and clubs — developing confidence and discovering passions. The School’s Outdoor Education Programme is renowned amongst NSW Independent schools. Kirrikee, the School’s dedicated outdoor centre is located in the heart of the southern highlands and offers a progressive K–10 programme culminating in the much loved ‘Kosi to Coast’ trek which is a 20-day hike from Mt Kosciusko to the Coast at the end of Year 10.

Choosing a school is about more than academics — it’s about culture.  St Andrew’s Cathedral School is in its 26thyear of coeducation and offers a very experienced environment for your son or daughter.
