Burwood’s MLC School is holding a virtual school tour for prospective students and their parents in November.
The live event will include an online tour of the school grounds, a chance to hear from the principal Lisa Moloney and other senior staff members, as well as an opportunity to ask questions.
MLC School runs both junior and senior campuses, catering to female students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Senior students are able to study either the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or the International Baccalaureate (IB). In 2020, MLC School ranked as the No. 1 IB school in Australia, with six students receiving a perfect score of 45. Across both the HSC and IB, eight MLC School students received a 99.95 ATAR in 2020.
While academic achievement is a big focus at MLC School, this is supported by a strong emphasis on personal growth and individual development. The school offers a wide range of subjects and an extensive co-curricular program. Students are encouraged to follow their passions and extend their learning. Recent achievements for current students span music, science and technology, and leadership.
Year 12 student Ellery was recently awarded second place in Monash University’s 2021 Emerging Composer Prize. Jacqueline Flett has become the first female Regimental Sergeant Major in the Newington College Cadet Unit. And year 6 student Nectaria was highly commended in Taronga Zoo’s STEM Enrichment Challenge for her meerkat enrichment toy.
