The best Halloween streets, neighbourhood hotspots and family-friendly events across the Inner West, Canterbury-Bankstown and Canada Bay.
Halloween is creeping up, and if your little ghosts, witches and vampires are already planning their costumes (and calculating how many lollies they can collect), it’s time to work out where to take them trick-or-treating.
Halloween falls on Saturday 31 October 2026, which means no racing home from school, squeezing into costumes or rushing out before bedtime. This year, families can make a whole afternoon or evening of it.
From the famously festive streets of Annandale and Drummoyne to organised Halloween celebrations in Concord, Marrickville, Summer Hill and Newtown, there’s plenty happening in and around Sydney’s Inner West.
We’ve rounded up the local streets worth exploring, along with some fantastic family-friendly Halloween events for those who prefer their spooky fun a little more organised.
And for families with younger children, we’ve included some daytime options so the little ones can join in without staying up past bedtime.
🎃 A quick note before you head out: Our street recommendations are based on locations shared by local families in previous years. Halloween participation can change from year to year, and not every house on a listed street will be involved. We recommend checking for decorations beforehand and only approaching homes that are clearly welcoming trick-or-treaters.
(Scouted by locals; Plan B recommended – see following section.)
🎃 Annandale – Railway Parade, Annandale Parade, Trafalgar Street, and Nelson Street
🎃 Ashbury – First and Third Streets
🎃 Concord West – Merville Street
🎃 Croydon Park – Balmoral Street

🎃 Drummoyne – Renwick Street
🎃 Earlwood – Bexley Road and Gornall Avenue
🎃 Five Dock – Lancelot Street
🎃 Kingsgrove – William Street
🎃 Leichhardt – Hill Street & surrounds

🎃 Marrickville – Charles Street
🎃 Russell Lea – Sibbick Street
🎃 Parramatta – Grandview Street & Gore Street
🎃 Redfern – Baptist Street
🎃 Rockdale – Clarence Road and Herbert Street
🎃 Rosebery – Tweedmouth Avenue
🎃 Rozelle – Darling Street
🎃 Stanmore – Cavendish Street & surrounds

If you’d prefer a guaranteed Halloween atmosphere, these organised celebrations are a great alternative to wandering the streets hoping to find participating houses.
