In an almost $5 million upgrade, Burwood Council has unveiled a brand-new nature play space and sensory garden within the much-loved, picturesque Burwood Park.
The nature play facility offers a range of play experiences for older children which foster contact with nature. The playground features a large climbing structure and slide and various other equipment for balancing, jumping, swinging and more.
There is also a sandpit and water play available.
Adjacent to the nature play area is the sensory garden, which provides a beautiful space for quiet reflection and connection with nature.
It should be noted that the nature play facility is not fenced and is directly opposite a large pond.
There is a fully fenced play area for younger children on the other side of the park, which is set to be upgraded soon.
Happily, a cafe, The Picnic, operates within the park itself. The Picnic offers a range of delectable items to take away or enjoy while dining in.
There is ample street parking around the park’s edges; alternatively you can park at Westfield Burwood, across the road.
