Description
Have you noticed it yet?
That moment when your daughter begins to grow into herself — asking deeper questions, showing empathy, leading quietly, thinking creatively, or surprising you with how capable she’s becoming.
Often, you can feel that readiness emerging before it shows up on a report.
When families first think about scholarships, it’s easy to assume they’re about grades or being “the best”.
But what if scholarships could also recognize potential — especially when it’s still unfolding?
At MLC School, we believe girls thrive when they are seen, supported and challenged early. That belief has shaped our approach to girls’ education for 140 years, and it continues to guide how we identify and support girls today.
Since 1886, more than 20,000 young women have walked through MLC School’s doors — each encouraged to question, contribute, lead and imagine what’s possible. Their paths are diverse, but they share something powerful: an education that actively believed girls can do anything.
Today, MLC School is a leading independent, non‑selective school for girls from Pre‑Kindergarten to Year 12, where academic challenge is balanced with creativity, music, sport, leadership and care for the whole child.
Our scholarships are different because they look beyond results alone.
They focus on readiness, curiosity and character — and on creating environments where confidence grows through encouragement, belonging and opportunity.
This approach is especially powerful in Year 5, a pivotal year where girls step into increased independence and leadership. Every student takes on responsibility within the Junior School, developing confidence, organisation and a sense of agency. Learning extends beyond the classroom, including a leadership immersion experience in Canberra, where girls deepen their understanding of democracy, civics and their role in society.
It’s in these moments — being trusted, supported and stretched — that many girls truly begin to flourish.
✨ Year 5 scholarships for 2027 are now open, offering Inner West families the opportunity to explore what an education shaped by belief, experience and possibility could look like for their daughter.
