Hearthe: An exciting new cafe for Stanmore

This week the much-anticipated Hearthe, an artisan cake shop and cafe by Christopher Thé, officially opens its doors on 16 Douglas Street, Stanmore.

Master chef Christopher Thé was the founder of Black Star Pastry and the creator of the famed strawberry watermelon cake aka ‘the world’s most instagrammed cake’.

All dishes, cakes, bread, pastries and treats are cooked onsite by Chris and his small team. Many of Chris’s creations showcase native Australian ingredients, such as saltbush, wattleseed and lemon myrtle.

Chris Thé says: ‘I grew up near Stanmore in Haberfield. I feel a strong connection to this land and this location. I believe the future of food is being one and the same with the land and the climate within which you are cooking.’

Chris is committed to sustainable practices. The Hearthe team offer a refund on the return of the glass bottles they use for their house-made cold-pressed juices.

The federation Art Deco-inspired space is located directly opposite Stanmore train station within the Stanmore shopping precinct. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor dining tables.

Hearthe is open 7 days, from 7 am till 4 pm.
