Constitution Rd W, Meadowbank
In April 2019 the City of Ryde unveiled a fabulous new multi-use skate and family recreation space in Meadowbank.
We visited Meadowbank Park Youth and Family Recreation Space with our children aged 3 and 5 years recently (right in the middle of a rain shower). We were impressed with the facilities which certainly meet a need for youths in the area.
The skate area features facilities for skateboarders, scooter and bike riders, including a three-metre deep competition bowl and street obstacles for advanced and intermediate riders and a surrounding asphalt track for beginners. (Caution: while it’s fun to watch the older kids in action, do be sure to keep small children out of their way!)

The playground equipment includes a climbing structure with slide, swings (one standard, one supported style), a climbing net tunnel, bouldering walls and a table tennis court.

In addition, the park has tables and bench seating, an undercover barbecue, a water refill station and new landscaping and lighting. There is plenty of grassy space too for picnics.
Meadowbank Park is also a major sporting area with numerous playing fields used mainly for soccer and cricket, as well as netball hard courts and tennis courts. Toilets are located near the playing fields.
On the weekday we visited Meadowbank Park, we found a parking spot easily on Constitution Road, but of course it may be more difficult to find during peak times at weekends and holidays.
Overall we rate this park highly for the riding scooters and bikes (for younger kids) and skateboards (for older kids). If you’re seeking a playground experience, although the equipment is ample, there are not a lot of options for younger children.
