Abbie’s Lane, the newest addition to Annandale’s vibrant neighbourhood, has been revealed, with luxurious residential apartments and a rooftop garden planned.
Abbie’s Lane is a new five-storey development designed by PBD Architects and to be built by Ceerose. Features include private courtyards, balconies and wide frontages.
The apartments have been designed to capture sunlight and maximise natural airflow.
Communal facilities include the rooftop garden, designed as a community hub with landscaped greenery and barbecue facilities. Plus a central courtyard known as Abbie’s Lawn, giving the complex a village feel.
Abbie’s Lane is located on McCarthy Lane in Annandale, a short walk to the bustling Booth Street shopping precinct. It will include 1 studio apartment, 10 one bed, 20 two beds and 11 three bed apartments, with basement level parking and direct lift access.
Prices range from $750,000 to $2.85 million.
Managing director of PBD Architects Paul Buljevic described the complex as balancing an exterior of protection and solidity, with an interior of calm. Natural textures have been used throughout.
“Architecturally, the built form explores the concept of solidity versus openness,” he said.
“The facade’s brickwork and powder coated metal will complement the historical roots of Annandale with a contemporary aesthetic.”
Abbie’s Lane is being developed by Eranna Development and will be built by Ceerose. The latter has a long-standing history in the inner west, having recently completed Atelier Leichhardt and with work underway on the Alex Collective in Alexandria.
Managing director of Ceerose Edward Doueihi said the design evolved from careful consideration of the historical streetscape, and with the ultimate aim of creating an “urban retreat”.
“The development adopts a sympathetic material pallet that respects the heritage significance and aesthetics that Annandale is known for,” he said.
Colliers Residential will be managing the sale process. Director of residential at Colliers Daniel McMahon said he is expecting a wide mix of buyers, considering the limited number of new apartment projects in Annandale and the friendly village lifestyle on offer.
“Abbie’s Lane represents a unique offering in the inner west and is one of the first new projects in Annandale that will capitalise on growth plans in the area,” he said.
“Annandale’s easy accessibility to Sydney CBD, Blackwattle Bay, Barangaroo and popular universities make Abbie’s Lane a very appealing location for both owner occupiers and savvy investors.”
Abbie’s Lane is being developed on a 1765 sqm site. It is next door to the iconic Annandale Hotel, which is about to re-open under new owners. Annandale Public School is in close walking distance.
