The April school holidays are just around the corner and if you’re looking for options to keep the kids busy, having fun and maybe even learning a few new things, then this guide is a good place to start your search. It’s packed full of engaging activities for kids in and around Sydney’s Inner West! From acrobatic camps to art, drama, public speaking and sports. There’s something for kids of all ages and interests! Many of these activities are organised by registered Active Kids or Creative Kids providers, so don’t forget to make use of those vouchers


AcroPals Camp


Acrobatics classes for children age 6-16 years       

Acropals is Sydney’s first acro-only school with classes for all ages and abilities taught by Australia’s top acrobatics teachers. Acropals is running a one week camp where children will learn acrobatics and air track tumbling, flipping, acro aerials and circus skills in a friendly, non-competitive environment.

Lunch and snacks are provided each day.

AcroPals uses state-of-the-art equipment and has a massive assortment of air tracks to keep your kids safe while teaching them everything from a forward roll to a full twist back.

Artspark Studio


Art & sewing classes for toddlers to pre-teen (3 to 12 yeas old)     

ArtSpark Studio, a sun-filled studio in Rozelle, is running special ceramic workshops, with a guest ceramicist for primary school-aged children and up. The regular art and sewing workshops are also available for preschoolers (3–5 year olds) and primary school students, and sewing classes for ages 8 years and up. ArtSpark also has an eco-friendly garden and mini farm with chickens and guinea pigs – the perfect place for creative minds to relax.

Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP)


Drama classes for primary school-aged children and high school students

Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) is the national youth theatre company – connecting young people with the professional theatre industry locally, regionally and nationally. ATYP is running school holiday drama workshops aimed to encourage and engage young people from Kindergarten to Year 12. Kids will make new friends, learn about performing, gain confidence and most importantly have a lot of fun in a safe and inspiring environment.

During the Easter holidays Bricks 4 Kids Inner West will be hosting workshops in Abbotsford, Balmain and Leichhardt. The workshops will feature STEM-based fun LEGO themes and robotics and coding sessions for children aged 7+.

Art classes for primary school children

Creative Little Fingers offers a creative environment allowing children to discover art. It is running art workshops for kids aged 5–12 years. The workshops are relaxed allowing children to create to their individual potential. Painting terracotta pots, oil pastels, drawing and painting on canvas and painting your on picture frame are some of the workshops on offer this April.

Yoga, tumbling, mindfulness & acrobatics for kids K-6

Flying Yogis teaches life management skills on the mat (courage, strength, confidence, stability, grace) that they can take off the mat. Creativity and agility is the theme for these April School Holidays. As well as their regular yoga, tumbling and acrobatics programs there will also be art, picnics, cooking and mindfulness and lots fun!

Gallery NTK provides creative fun and tuition in all areas of art for kids from preschool to Year 12. The classes are led by fully qualified art teachers and professional artists and focus on skills and techniques in clay making and painting and drawing. Gallery NTK offers a beautiful gallery setting to enhance the creative skills of every child.

Multi-sport fitness classes for primary school kids

GeckoSports, in Ashfield is running a three hour program, suitable for kids aged 5 to 12 years who are looking for a fun holiday sports day with friends. With lots of fun games planned, there will be some track and field themed games (sprints relays, long jump, high jump, shot put and javelin/ pool noodle throwing) as well as learning and playing two fun ball sports: volleyball (Newcombe ball) and softball.

Children will be shown the basic skills required for each sport and how they can use these skills in a real game. No experience in any of the sports is required. Just a desire to have lots of fun!

Gymnastics camp for kids aged 4 to 12 years

GymKidz is a recreational gymnastics centre in Newtown. Gymkidz camps are gymnastics focused but include a variety of stimulating physical and motor-skill development with games, acrobatics and circus, double dutch, rhythmic, dance and team challenges, all in the care of a qualified team of instructors.

Haberfield Tennis Centre   

Tennis camps for kids aged 4 to 16 years    

Haberfield Tennis will be running daily tennis camps during the school holidays.

The morning classes consist of stroke-production, acting as an introduction to the basics. After recess the classes consist of improving on the skills learnt and implementing them with tennis games as well as doubles and singles round robins. At the end of the day players participate in some free-time followed by a choice of one of the many organised activities including choices of tennis and soccer.There will also be a giant inflatable slide and castle!

The Athletic Buddha

The Athletic Buddha health and fitness centre will be running two sessions for children in the school holidays. The first is the SSS-World Cup Soccer which includes interactive games and prizes, morning tea and lunch and each participant will receive an Athletic Buddha tank top.
