Family Fun at Vivid Sydney at Chatswood

Once again Vivid Sydney, the Southern Hemisphere’s largest festival of light, music and ideas, is transforming our city and skies with dramatic light installations and projects from 24 May until 15 June 2019.

Vivid Sydney at Chatswood is a fantastic easy option for families that wish to enjoy the festivities without the hordes of people. Experience interactive and immersive light, colour and sound installations celebrating love peace and harmony dispersed throughout the precinct.

Some of the family-friendly highlights at Vivid Chatswood include:

The Ferris Wheel

Ride the beautifully lit 22-metre-high Bella Vista Ferris Wheel, on Spring Street, for a magical experience.

Glow-in-the-Dark Mini Golf

Put your putt-putt skills to the test with this great glow-in-the-dark course.

Creative Workshops

Make some glow-in-the-dark slime. On Thursdays and Saturdays get a complimentary luminescent temporary tattoo, or even glow-in-the-dark hair or nails.

Immersive and Interactive Artworks

Discover the many engaging artworks among the public spaces, streets and laneways of Chatswood.

Children can play the Cascading Harp, located at Chatswood Interchange, a magnificent curtain of light, pastel colours and bells and chimes. Discover the Trumpet Flowers, at Chatswood Mall, a giant musical flower garden inspired by vintage gramophones. At Mills Lane, Woodie, the free-moving robot that draws luminescent chalk designs on the ground lit by UV light, is another key attraction for kids.

Themed Food

Special lights indicate which restaurants are participating in special Vivid-themed dining offers.

The lights at Chatswood come on each evening from 24 May–15 June 2019 at 5.30 pm until 10.30 pm. The event is accessible for prams and strollers. The precinct is easily reached by public transport or car, with local parking available.
