Now that Sydney has finally warmed up and we are getting to enjoy some summer heat, the desire in my house for healthy cold snacks has suddenly become more of a challenge to fulfil. So when the Inner West Mums team were offered the chance to try out Twisted Healthy Treats we jumped at the chance!
These frozen yoghurt based desserts are low in sugar, gluten-free and were a big hit with the kids!
The frozen yoghurt range includes Mini Cups which come in four different flavours and 1 litre tubs in vanilla or mango.
Their products also include Licks ice-block-style bars (plus a plant-based version) in a variety of flavours such as sea salt caramel and watermelon crush.
We trialed a pack containing a 1 litre tub each of the mango and vanilla Frozen Yoghurt. Plus a recipe card to turn them into smoothies.
First up we added raspberries, strawberries and banana to the vanilla Frozen Yoghurt to make the delicious Mixed Berry Twist Smoothie. This was so popular with my kids I barely got a taste of it before it was gone.
So, when it came time to try the Fandango Mango Smoothie, I waited until the kids were distracted so the adults could at least enjoy a few sips before they came and consumed the rest.
The best part was knowing that the kids were enjoying an icy treat while not consuming large amounts of sugar and additives.
Twisted Healthy Treats are available for purchase at both Coles and Woolworths, plus other stockists. Check out their website for more information on the ingredients and health credentials.
