What is Mr Tony’s Creative Kids Club?

We offer creative play for clever kids! Based in Balmain, Mr Tony’s Creative Kids Club offers highly-engaging, play-based music classes for babies and toddlers in the Inner West. Specially designed for babies from 0 to 3 years of age, this original series of small group classes explore percussion, singing and dancing in an open, encouraging space that kids (and their parents) love. Creator and Inner West local Tony Marsh has been inspiring children through creative arts education, both here and overseas, for over a decade.

What makes your classes different?

Our custom curriculums! Every class is designed and taught by founder Tony Marsh. Our engaging, energetic syllabus is designed to delight, with each session geared towards building confidence. By treating children as individuals and respectfully encouraging connectedness and creativity – there’s no rote learning here – we create an environment where children thrive to their full potential.

What are the benefits of of music classes for kids?

There are plenty of benefits. Each class nurtures multiple areas of development. Through physical play, children learn gross motor skills, coordination, and spatial awareness. And while all of Mr Tony’s Creative Kids Club classes are more fun than a bag full of balloons, they also build school readiness skills.

How about parents and carers – can joining in these lessons help them too?

Absolutely. Unlike some activities for kids, our classes are designed to be fun for parents too! They’re also a great way to connect with a community of people who are at exactly the same stage as you. Each class runs for an hour, but there’s free play to start, so you can relax if you’re ever running late.

Is your program suitable for infants and babies?

Babies love to boogie! So if you’re a parent of a new baby looking for ways to interact with your child beyond story time, you can discover a world of musical fun with Mr Tony’s music classes for babies. Infants as young as eight weeks old can join in and by involving them in the class, parents can learn to support their child’s development through intentional play. Plus, musical play has been shown to support cognitive development, enhance language skills, and foster emotional expression.

What else do you offer?

We have drama workshops too. Mr Tony’s Creative Kids Club also offers drama workshops for ages three and up, via our HERO Youth Theatre program. These classes encourage kids to use their voice and imagination, and incorporate play, performance and mindfulness to build self-confidence and creativity.
