Get ready to do the Hot Potato, the exhibition celebrating one of Australia’s most popular children’s groups is back at the Powerhouse Museum.
The Wiggles Exhibition re-opened this week to commemorate the group’s 30th anniversary. It will run until May 9.
The Big Red Car and the dancing area have returned, as has the S.S. Feathersword ship. But one big change is that you need to book.
Entry is by ticket only to help facilitate physical distancing in the exhibition. Tickets are free and can be booked for hour-long sessions. Touchscreens and some high touch activities have also been removed as a COVID-19 precaution. And prams are not permitted inside the exhibition itself.
The Wiggles Exhibition closed in 2020 as the museum prepared for its move to a new purpose-built facility in Parramatta. The decision to close and sell the Ultimo site was reversed by the NSW Government in July 2020. Museums will now operate in both sites.
The Wiggles were founded in 1991 by Anthony Field.
