The NSW Government’s Back-to-School voucher program commences in December, which will help take the pressure off the hip pocket come the start of term one.
The program, announced in this year’s state budget, gives families of school-aged children access to three $50 vouchers. These can be used for uniforms, stationary, school bags, lunchboxes and textbooks. Even umbrellas and raincoats. Similar to the Creative Kids and Active Kids vouchers, businesses will have to sign up to be a registered provider.
Parents and carers can sign up for the vouchers via Service NSW from December. The vouchers will be available for use until June 30, 2023. The Service NSW website states these vouchers can be combined for one transaction, which will be helpful for the more expensive items like uniforms and shoes!
To be eligible for the vouchers, the child must be a NSW resident and enrolled to attend school in 2023 (all year levels, primary and secondary).
