School’s back, summer’s still lingering, and Sydney Streets is once again rolling out its much-loved neighbourhood street parties — turning local high streets into car-free playgrounds filled with food, music, kids’ activities and alfresco vibes.
If you’ve never been, think festival-meets-street party: live music, roaming entertainment, family-friendly activities, pop-up bars, outdoor dining and one-off specials from local businesses. It’s relaxed, easy, and perfect for wandering with kids in tow.
Here’s what Inner West families should lock into the calendar.

📅 Saturday 14 February 2026
Sydney Streets kicks off with a Lunar New Year edition celebrating culture, food and community in the heart of Haymarket. Expect vibrant performances, street eats and a buzzing atmosphere — a great intro to the series and an easy day out with kids.

📅 Saturday 7 March 2026
📍 Redfern Street, between Regent and Chalmers streets
A lively, family-friendly event with food stalls, DJs, pop-up bars and kids’ activities. Expect circus-style play zones, garden games and plenty to keep both little and big kids entertained well into the evening.

📅 Saturday 21 March 2026
📍 Stanley Street, between Yurong and Crown streets
One of Sydney’s best dining streets gets the Sydney Streets treatment, with alfresco Italian favourites, live music, roaming entertainment and a buzzy atmosphere that works just as well for families earlier in the day as it does for date-night energy later on.

📅 Saturday 28 March 2026
📍 Harris Street, between Pyrmont Bridge Road and Union Street
A great pick for Inner West families, this one leans heavily into kid-friendly fun — think reading corners, movement sessions, live entertainment and (importantly) ice-cream vans. Easy to dip in for a few hours without committing to a full day.
