Celebrating 70 Years of Cinderella at The Grounds of Alexandria

The Grounds of Alexandria have teamed up with Disney+ to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Disneyโ€™s Cinderella. The beautiful, immersive, dream-like experience runs to 3 January 2021 and is a must for any fans of the film or princess wannabes! The Inner West Mums team recently headed to The Grounds to check out this magical display.

As with previous installations at The Grounds, the theming and Instagram-friendly decorations hit you the second you turn the corner and step through the archway. This year blue and white are naturally the colours that take centre stage.

Being accompanied by five and ten year old girls made the experience even more magical, the oohs and aaahs when they spotted the glass slipper and dresses, inspired by the recent Cinderella remake, were clearly audible!

Whether COVID inspired or not, The Grounds have introduced a one-way system to walk through the decorations, which was great as it definitely eased crowding and allowed everyone to see everything much more easily.

For the parents, or those children interested in film creation, there were storyboard style prints from the original 1950s movie on display alongside a Cinderella pumpkin inspired carriage for people to sit in. However, make sure you adhere to the sanitising procedures, so you donโ€™t turn into a pumpkin too!

This time around The Grounds have produced a Bibbidi, Bobbidi Boo drink and The Pumpkin Carriage cake themed to match the beautiful Cinderella surroundings and while we were too full to eat The Pumpkin Carriage cake, there was no way the girls were going to resist the edible butterfly and fairy floss a top the perfectly blue drink! The lychee lemonade flavour was refreshing, I wonโ€™t spoil the magic effect when you stir in the fairy floss.
