Launching on 6 April and located at the top of the zoo, visitors can experience Nura Diya. Translating to ‘this Country’ in the language of the Cammeraigal People who inhabited the land where the zoo is located, it’s an apt name for the new immersive habitat of native flora and fauna which will allow guests to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship First Nations people have with the land. Walk through the bushland setting where you might find a kangaroo or dingo hiding behind each leafy corner.
Up high, Nura Diya’s new canopy walk will wind its way through treetops so guests can get up close to Australia’s favourite sleepy marsupial, the koala.

Genetically gifted? Fantastically fit? Energy savvy? Sound like a Marvel movie? Guess again. Energy provider Red Energy’s SPECIES with SPARK Trail showcases the crazily clever animals around the zoo. Grab a complimentary kids map and pencil and follow the trail which will lead kids to the activity hub on the concert lawn. There they’ll find a bouncy castle, inflatable obstacle course, face painting and more to keep the day’s adventures going.
Completed the trail? You could win an overnight stay to either Roar and Snore Sydney or Zoofari Lodge Dubbo. Simply follow the SPECIES with SPARK trail sign to the solve the mystery word and enter here.

Head to Seal Bay to spot Kobe – the adorable, three-month-old fur seal pup – as he finds his swimming flippers. During the three daily Seals for the Wild Presentations, visitors can learn more about the fur seal species, including conservation efforts. And for the adventurous, pick the ‘splash zone’ for an even more unforgettable show experience!

Love heights and want to add a little more adventure to your visit? Why not conquer the “beasts” on the zoo’s new Wild Ropes Treetops Adventure high ropes course. Joining forces with “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” for the month of April only, guests can get a bird’s eye view of the new Nura Diya Australia habitat and test their balance across junior and adult courses.
